Fear From the Inside

The outside world closes in, at the end of another day
Safety and privacy, such a price you'll have to pay
The open spaces and unknown places, they draw you more inside yourself
In the safety of your domain, you gaze out and ask no help

From . . . the outside, everything so unfeeling and stale
No pride . . . no compassion, everything and everyone for sale

The comfort of these four walls, yours is a caring face
Such a peaceful and tranquil world, no unsteady fast rushed pace
The only walls that you know, that don't close and take your breath
When you step outside their shield, like a bird out of its nest

Helpless and frail, trampled under by you peers
The days and hours and minutes go by, escalate your age by years

Blind to the problems of the rest of the world, you only see yourself in need
Not because of heartless thoughts, not because of any greed

Unhealthy, solace and drawn, not much to live for now
Normal population is unknowing, you can tell by the laughing sounds

You cry out for help from someone, no one is around to hear
The locks on the doors to the outside, hold them out and interfere

Fear from the inside, eating away at body and soul
The vote is against you, it's shown in the masses poll
